Getting Started
Welcome to the Cloud Factory Customer Portal. This guide walks you through creating your account, logging in, and navigating the platform for the first time.
Creating Your Account
Registration is a quick two-step process.
- Go to the Customer Portal login page and click Create Account.
- Step 1 -- Account Details: Enter your full name, email address, and choose a password (minimum 8 characters).
- Step 2 -- Account Type: Select Individual for personal use or Business for company accounts. Business accounts require a company name, VAT number, and billing address.
- Click Create Account to finish. You will receive a confirmation email.
OAuth Sign-Up
Instead of email/password, you can register using a third-party provider:
- Google -- Use your Google Workspace or personal Google account.
- GitHub -- Ideal for developers who prefer GitHub-based identity.
- Microsoft -- Sign in with your Microsoft 365 or Azure AD account.
Click the provider icon on the login page and authorize Cloud Factory to access your basic profile information.
Logging In
- Navigate to the Customer Portal login page.
- Enter your email and password, then click Sign In.
- If you registered via OAuth, click the corresponding provider icon instead.
Authentication uses secure httpOnly cookies. You will remain signed in until your session expires or you explicitly log out.
Dashboard Overview
After logging in, you land on the Dashboard. It provides a snapshot of your account at a glance.
The top section displays three key metrics:
- Total Orders -- The number of orders you have placed.
- Active Services -- How many cloud resources are currently running.
- Outstanding Balance -- Any unpaid invoice amounts in EUR.
Below the metrics you will find recent activity, quick actions, and links to your most-used services.
Projects and Workspaces
Cloud Factory organizes resources in a three-level hierarchy:
- Workspace -- Your top-level account container. Most customers have one workspace.
- Projects -- Logical groupings within a workspace (e.g., "Production", "Staging", "R&D").
- Services -- Individual cloud resources deployed inside a project.
This structure lets you separate environments, control access, and track costs per project. You can create and manage projects from Account Settings.
Navigating the Portal
The header bar is your primary navigation tool:
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Workspace Selector | Switch between workspaces (top-left dropdown). |
| Project Selector | Filter the current view to a specific project. |
| Search (Cmd+K) | Quickly find services, orders, or settings. |
| Create Menu | Deploy a new service -- choose from 6 service types. |
| Notifications | View alerts for order updates, billing events, and service changes. |
The sidebar links to all major sections: Dashboard, Projects, Services, Orders, Invoices, Support, Usage, DNS, and Settings.
Available Service Types
When you create a new resource through the Create Menu, you can choose from:
- Enterprise VPS -- Virtual private servers with dedicated resources.
- Private Cloud -- Isolated cloud environments for your organization.
- Managed Kubernetes -- Container orchestration without the operational overhead.
- AI/ML & Data -- GPU-accelerated instances and data processing platforms.
- Managed Databases -- Fully managed PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and more.
- Object Storage -- S3-compatible storage for files, backups, and media.
See the Ordering Guide for details on how to deploy a service.
Theme and Language
- Theme Toggle -- Click the sun/moon icon in the header to switch between light and dark mode. Your preference is saved automatically.
- Language Switcher -- Select your preferred language from the dropdown in the header. The portal currently supports English and Serbian.
